Jeane M Myers
12/01/2009At present my work reflects three interests - things that are unseen - points of connection and the mapping of our lives. I am interested in the things that we know are part of our world, but are not visible to the eye. I'm currently working on a series entitled 'Beneath the Skin'. This world is alive and vital and operates 24/7. We know our body is doing all kinds of things, but we never see it working beneath the skin. Another interest of mine are points of connection and the energy that is created by these momentary connections - hands touching, whispers in the ear, stepping into a hot bath, first taste of our favorite food, etc. Each moment causes a sensation and then passes. Much of my work is about that moment of contact. And mapping. I love the idea of connecting the dots in our lives. All the lines intersecting and then the path veers, loops, ends, starts again somewhere else. We go forward and backward, we stand still, we sink, we stumble, we fall, - this action or lack of it, intrigues me. These three interests drive my work. Jeane Myers

12/01/2009(I am attempting to create another everyday, which seems more essential than the actual living, by painting atmospheres; emotions and actions that can't be expressed by words; nothing special, but surely existing)

01/17/2009My rather personal works are mostly about human beings.
I like to show how people unveil parts of themselves in unguarded moments. How we are all searching for how we used to be - or still are - somewhere deep inside.
I like to reveal the inner core of a person and bring it to the surface - to fathom what‘s behind beauty and how we can uncover the extraordinary in the everyday. And in this way, I try to invite the observer to take a glance at an exposing mirror, too.
My works are what you would discover, if you paused for a moment and took a closer look.

Sophie Shapiro
10/15/2009It is so interesting to be able to access the world’s different cultures with the press of a button. The internet has brought us all together. We are now geographically mobile and are able to study every known culture on the planet. I am interested in many aspects of transformation and the mysteries of the world. I approach the subject of unseen energy as a form of enlightenment. The images presented in my portfolio are produced with the help of my Spirit guides. There are many examples throughout history where people have been guided and held unorthodox beliefs; their works have enriched our lives; Emanuel Swedenborg, William Blake, W.T. Stead, George Henslow, Arthur Conan Doyle, Jung and Wassily Kandinsky to name a few. I am a conduit for Spirits work and because of this have encountered a variety of experiences with my Spirit guides and Spirit mentors.
Many of my paintings take the viewer on a Spiritual Journey. I am interested in regression and past life experiences. The paintings speak for themselves and through them I am able to interpret and support individuals as they embark on this fascinating journey of self-discovery, transformation and enlightenment.
Thank you for your interest - Sophie Shapiro

Lynnette Shelley
12/15/2009Deeply influenced by Celtic, Eastern, Asian and aboriginal / native works; art nouveau, abstract expressionism, and medieval artworks; fantasy and science fiction; as well as zoomorphism, therianthropy, cryptozoology and mythological stories and legends, Lynnette fuses these styles into her strikingly unique illustrations...
“I am a fan of a multitude of artists - from the various pen-and-ink artists such as Aubrey Beardsley and Edward Gorey to medieval illuminated manuscripts created by Celtic monks to Russian iconic artists to Japanese scroll painters and native artisans. I also appreciate artists who portray the world around them with a unique eye and a colorful imagination – Vincent Van Gogh, William Blake, Frida Kahlo, Marc Chagall, Gustav Klimt, Henri Rousseau, Edvard Munch, Susan Seddon Bouletand Walton Ford, to name but a few.”
Lynnette's artwork strikes a primal chord in many viewers, with almost Jungian associations to the colors and shapes. Her animal art and creature illustrations are both primitive and sophisticated, and have been likened to images from an undiscovered ancient civilization or culture.
